Blue sky above with ground fog as we pull up anchor at 09:45. Using the radar overlay on the GPS to navigate as the fog is very heavy all around. We can just make out Flores Island in front of us as we turn east. It is clear going through Hayden Passage and down Millar Channel, but we can see the fog still laying in beyond McKay Island. Just as we pass north of McKay Island into Herbert Inlet the fog breaks up. There are many marine farms. We pass two at feeding time and can see the fish jumping to eat. It is not unlike feeding the Koi at home. At 12:45 we drop anchor in the north cove of West Whitepine Cove. The anchor chatters quite a bit over rocks until it finally takes hold. The Wind has picked up so we spend the afternoon on the boat. Periodically I check our distance to shore and scan for bear which reportedly habitat the area. After dinner, around 19:00, we take the dinghy out. There is a shallow lagoon around the bend to the east, and a decent stream with falls on the south shore. We venture outside our cove and find a back door to Whitepine Cove to the east. Back at the boat after stowing the dinghy Brad puts a fishing line in the water and enjoys the sunset. Only saw two boats today, one working motor boat in Millar Channel, and one cruising sailboat as it passes by our anchorage. Today's stats: sea temp 60.3, air temp 68, watermaker 2 hours, engine hours 3.1, nautical miles 16.5, total trip miles 835.9, GPS coordinates 49.17.813N / 125.58.753W.
