We
pulled up 250 ft. rode with anchor at 08:45 and departed Shearwater. We’re back tracking out Lama Passage and
taking it slow to make more water. On
the way we spot two whales fairly close.
Out in Fisher Channel we set sail
and tack back and forth heading south.
Eventually we turn north and sail downwind back to Lagoon Bay.
There is a fishing boat pulling
in its net.
Inside Lagoon Bay is a narrow
entrance to Codville Lagoon. Once inside
the area seems huge.
Crossing to the east side of
Codville Island we set anchor in 50 ft.
Travel time 4.25 hour, engine
hours 3.4, nautical miles 22.7. Our GPS
coordinates 52◦03.693 N, 127◦50.399 W.
After lunch we prepare the dingy and go to shore. There is a strenuous 1.2 km trail to Sagar Lake. The trail is part boardwalk and part climb over tree roots in soggy soil.
Sagar Lake has sandy beaches
which look really nice in the cruising guide book picture.
