It looks like a nice day, but
just as we pull up anchor it starts to rain.
The rain doesn’t last long.
As soon as we are out in the
expansive waters of Fitz Hugh Sound, the sun shines and the wind calms, the
water is flat. It is a fairly non
eventful day. We run the water maker for
the first time since the incident when a leak let the control panel get wet.
We’re traveling north as far as the Fitz Hugh Sound
goes. Just at the split into Fisher and
Burke Channel is King Island. A short
distance up Fisher Channel brings us to Kisameet Bay.
KISAMEET BAY
These nooks always seem small as we
approach. It is only after we get settled
and climb into the dingy that we realize how much room there actually is. Because there are already two boats here, we
settle in 60 ft. at the entrance. When a
third sailboat comes in and goes further in, we realize we could have done so
too.
EXPLORING IN THE DINGY
You almost need a GPS when
exploring in the dingy. We do carry the
VHF radio and have extra fuel for the engine.
Engine hours 3.9, nautical miles 22.8.
Our GPS coordinates: 51◦58.125 N, 127◦52.897 W.
