From Kisameet Bay, north in
Fisher Channel, west in Lama Passage, to Shearwater. Today looks stormy. The wind is from the south. Having intermittent fog with cloud
bursts.
In Shearwater the wind is
variable up to 12 knots. We wait for a
space at the fuel dock, and then fill up with 92.5 liters at $1.30 a
liter. There is a waiting list for the
marina so we anchor out.
We prepare the dingy with the 9.9 engine. Brad goes into town and gets on the waiting
list. Engine hours 3.8, nautical miles 21.2.

DINGY RIDE WITH THE 9.9 HP ENGINE
Saturday, July 25, 2015
In Shearwater on anchor waiting
for a place to open at the dock. It
rained hard last night and then off and on again this morning. Glad we pulled the plug in the dingy. As the day passes, it looks less likely that
we will get a spot in the marina today.
While there is a break in the weather, we load the dingy with the
garbage and some shopping bags and head into town. Looking at the laundry facility, we make plans to do the same tomorrow if the weather holds. Brad is able to access the internet and downloads a GRIB file to check the weather pattern for the next few days.

We loaded up the dingy in the
morning with the laundry and computers and headed into town. We did three loads at 4 loonies per load to
wash and 6 loonies total to dry. Brad
tried the internet and even bought a connection, but it just doesn’t work well
enough to do online banking or upload our blog.
That has been the story for the entire trip. And since we are having difficulty connecting
with the single side band radio, we can’t get any messages out that way
either. At least the sat phone is
working and we have been able to keep our folks up to date with our whereabouts.
It has been a lovely day out side. Brad went for an afternoon dingy ride and I sat out on the deck and crocheted. Brad picked me up and we went back into town for dinner. This is only the second time we have eaten out on this trip.
