LEAVING PORT
BROWNING
The boat has
turned on anchor with our stern facing out.
That may be why we are feeling every ripple in the water. We are underway by 08:15. Cutting across the traffic lanes in Boundary
Pass we soon see the familiar shape of Stuart Island and Prevost Harbor. We’re headed for Friday Harbor to clear U.S.
Customs. After clearing customs we go a
short distance beyond the ferry dock and anchor close to town. Engine hours
3.7, nautical miles 20.88. Our GPS
coordinates: 48⁰32’215 N, 123⁰00’517
W. We have decided to stay for two days.
ANCHORED IN
FRIDAY HARBOR, SAN JUAN ISLAND, USA
We take the
dingy to the marina dingy dock, right next to the sewer pump out. The smell is competing with the odors coming
from the restaurants along the waterfront.
Walking up the main street we venture in one store which features
several local artists. I see lots of
good ideas for projects that will never get realized. There is one magnificent
piece, a kaleidoscope. I am tempted to
purchase it, but my practical nature gets the better of me. Sitting at the water front we enjoy watching
the activity.
