We had a good night in Tenedos
Bay. Heading out at 08:00, it doesn’t
take long to join the group of boaters going south. Leaving Desolation Sound, we travel inside
the Copeland Islands, down the Malaspina Strait to Jervis Inlet. The water here is very clear. The watermaker runs for 2.25 hours to fill
the tank.

COPELAND ISLANDS
LOOKS LIKE A WHALE OF AN ISLAND
We sail briefly in the morning
until we lose the wind. When is pick up
again in the afternoon, we’re only in the mood to get settled in our
anchorage. Sturt Bay on Texada Island is
passed by in favor of the unknown two more hours down the B.C. coast. Our destination is inside Blind Bay at Hardy
Island Marine Park. It is a lovely spot
and well known is the amount of boats that show up is any indication.

STERN TIE
We anchor in 46 ft. then prepare
the dingy to go to shore for a stern tie.
It is not a bad climb up to a secure rock above the high water
line. Brad lets out more anchor rode as
I pull the stern tie tight.
Travel time 6 hours, engine hours
6.1, nautical miles 42.1. Our GPS
coordinates 49⁰43’783 N, 124⁰12’748 W.
Bread
Baking attempt #3: Use spray oil in pan
and on bread only. Rise to just under
the top of the pan. Preheat oven to 350⁰
F. Bake 35 minutes, check at 30. Turn off oven, leave oven door open to
cool. RESULT, still sinks some, bottom
is not as burnt.
