We leave Bird Cove at 08:00. This turned out to be an OK place, but I
wouldn’t recommend it in a storm. We
have a long trip planned today. We’re
heading back up Sutil Channel and across to Deer Passage then east in Pryce
Channel and down Homfrey Channel. We
passed one location on the chart that is 2385 feet deep. This is essentially a trip around the outside
of the Redonda Islands.
THE CLOUDS OBSCURING THE MOUNTAIN
TOPS
PRYCE CHANNEL
The breeze is good, so we set the
sails.
HOMFRAY CHANNEL
The wind dies off and our
progress over ground is negative.
PRIDEAUX HAVEN
Our destination is PrIdeaux
Haven, where we anchored with the 26 ft. Osprey some years ago. The entrance is made more challenging with
the addition of swimmers in our path. It
is packed, wall to wall boats, both with and without stern ties. We slowly make our way in and then out. It looks like Tenedos Bay with its deeper
anchoring depths will get another visit.
TENEDOS BAY
Tenedos has fewer boats, and it is
very nice. We anchor out in about 60
feet without a stern tie to make our getaway easier in the morning. The weather is much nicer than last
month. The watermaker finally catches
up. Travel time 7 hours, engine hours
6.1, nautical miles 39. Our GPS
coordinates 50⁰07’632 N, 124⁰42’290 W.
